The AIM :

The aim of the "Climbing Out" session is to help students identify the positive and negative effects of Peer Influence, develop resilience, integrity and self - esteem


Students learn to :
  • Challenge the criteria for entry into peer groups (E.g. why do you have to be naughty and not do well in school to be cool?)
  • Increase awareness into group behaviour compared to individual behaviour
  • Discuss the nature of friends, friendships and the masks we wear hoping to make friends

Students will benefit by :
  • Understanding the 6 "peer pressure tricks"
  • Reflecting on the nature and implications of positive and negative peer pressure
  • Increased confidence to be authentic and real - true to themselves in peer group situations
